Abu Inaba Well

Abu Inaba Well by this well, the Prophet (PBUH) camped with his army, on his way to Bader. He reviewed his companions, and returned the young, such as Abdulla bin Omar, Usama bin Zaid, and Rafi’e bin Khudaij, God bless them. He permitted Omair bin Abu Waqqas, God bless him, when he wept as the Prophet (PBUH) refused to take him. He was martyred in Bader at the age of sixteen.

By the well, the Prophet (PBUH) prepared his army to Bader. The Prophet (PBUH) assigned Qais bin Abu Sa’asa’a, God bless him as leader to the pedestrians, and ordered him count the Muslims. He stood by Abu Inaba Well and counted them. Then he told the Prophet (PBUH) that they were three hundred and thirteen. He was pleased, and said: “The same count of the companions of Talot.”

In the Sunan (book of tradition) of Abu Dawood, this Hadith was narrated, containing a reference to the well in the Hadith of Abu Huraira: “A woman complained against her husband to the Prophet (PBUH) and said: He divorced me, and want to take my son from me.

My son helps me and fetches me drinking water from Abu Inaba Well. The Prophet (PBUH) said: “Taker the lots on him.” He said: “Who argues with me about my son? The Prophet (PBUH) said: “O boy, this is your mother, and this is your father, select whoever you want. The boy held his mother’s hand. The mother’s saying “He fetches me water from Abu Inaba Well” is evidence that he was grown up. No traces of this well nowadays.
