AL-MUGHAISLA MOSQUE (THE WASH HOUSE, WASHERS, BANI DINAR)

Al-Mughaisla Mosque (The Wash House, Washers, Bani Dinar)

In the old days, Al-Mughaisla Mosque mosque was named the Mosque of Bani Dinar bin Al-Najjar, of Al-Khazraj tribe. Ibn Shabba quoted Abdulla bin Uqba bin Abdul Malek as saying that the Prophet (PBUH) prayed a lot in Bani Dinar Mosque at the washers.

Ibn Zabala quoted Ayoub bin Saleh Al-Dinari as saying that Abu Bakr Al-Siddique, God bless him, married a woman from Bani Dinar. He fell ill. The Prophet (PBUH) visited him there.

They told him to pray for them in a place for them to pray in. The Prophet (PBUH) prayed in the mosque that was built at the place of the washers. As Ibn Zabala said, their house was located behind Bathan, i.e. in its western part, next to Al-Harra (black stone route). He said: “They washed in this mosque.”
