Bani Lahyan Incursion

Bani Lahyan Incursion

The Prophet (PBUH) had been in sharp grief for Asem bin Thabit and Khubaib bin Udai, God bless them, and their companions, who were betrayed on the day of Al-Rajee’a water (Gharan). He pretended that he was heading for Al-Sham (Syria) and camped in two hundred men with twenty horses. He assigned Abdulla bin Um Maktoum to safeguard Medina. He moved swiftly until he arrived at the heart of Gharan, five miles from Asfan, where his companions were killed. He asked for mercy on them and prayed for them. Bani Lahyan heard of them, so the escaped to the mountain tops, and he could not trace anyone of them. He stayed one or two days and sent battalions in all directions, but could not trace anyone. He took out until he arrived in Asfan. He sent Abu Bakr with ten musketeers for Quriash to hear about that and get scared. They arrived at Al-Ghameem, then returned, without tracing anyone. Then, the Prophet (PBUH) moved to Medina. He was absent for fourteen nights.
