موضع ولادة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم

Place of birth of the Prophet (PBUH)

The house of his place of birth (PBUH) is located at a place previously known as Shi’b Bani Hashim (Bani Hashim Enclave) and is now known as Shi’b Ali (Ali Enclave). It is located near the Masjid Al-Haram (Holy Mosque of Mecca) to the east. Anyone coming out of the Holy Mosque from Bab Al-Salam (The Gate of Peace) can view the building of the library at Al-Ghazza Street. Abul Waleed, in the News Book of Mecca, said: “The birth place of the Prophet, i.e. the house wherein he was born, was the house of Muhammad bin Yousuf, the brother of Al-Hajjaj bin Yousuf. Aqeel bin Abu Taleb had taken it when the Prophet (PBUH) migrated. About it and about others, the Prophet (PBUH), in the year of farewell, when he was asked “where to stay O Messenger of Allah?” “Has Aqeel left us with any shade?” It remained his property and the property of his son until his son sold it to Muhammad Yousuf, who annexed it to his house, named Al-Baidaa (The White). That house remained at the same place until Al-Khaizran, the mother of the two Caliphs, Moses and Haroun, performed pilgrimage, and turned it into a mosque wherein prayers are performed. She took him out of the house and confined him in the aisle originally located at that house, named the Birth Aisle. Currently, it is the premises of the Holy Mecca Library.
